The highly anticipated Tata Sierra has finally been showcased in its production-ready form, and even before its official launch, excitement among buyers is already kicking in. Although Tata Motors hasn’t started official bookings yet, several dealers across India have reportedly begun accepting unofficial pre-bookings for the upcoming SUV.

Unofficial Dealer Bookings Start
With the Sierra set to launch in India on November 25, many Tata dealerships have started collecting early booking amounts to secure customer interest. These unofficial bookings, often starting from ₹21,000, are not authorised by Tata Motors but are dealer-initiated steps to capture demand from buyers—especially those nostalgic about the iconic 1990s Sierra.
These preliminary bookings help dealerships record customer preferences, variants, and contact details ahead of official order books opening.
Iconic Nameplate Returns With a Modern Twist
Tata Motors has brought back the legendary Sierra badge in a brand-new avatar. The production-spec Sierra stays true to the original’s boxy charm while integrating contemporary styling and premium technology.
The SUV retains an upright stance and features a bold front fascia with:
- A gloss-black panel connecting the LED headlamps, DRLs, and Tata logo
- Prominent “Sierra” branding
- A rugged skid plate and twin fog lamps neatly embedded into the bumper

Tech-Loaded, Premium Interior
Inside, the Sierra features a stylish black-and-grey cabin enhanced by:
- Three digital displays — one for the driver and two for infotainment with shared content functionality
- The new four-spoke illuminated steering wheel borrowed from the Tata Curvv
- A panoramic sunroof stretching towards the C-pillar for an open, airy feel
- Five-seat layout with dual-tone beige and grey upholstery
- Adjustable headrests and 3-point seatbelts for all passengers
The SUV’s interior theme and materials underline Tata’s push toward offering a premium, future-ready cabin experience.
Engine Options Expected
The new Tata Sierra is anticipated to launch with multiple petrol and diesel engine choices, including:
1.5-litre Turbo-Petrol (New Engine)
- Approx. 170 hp / 280 Nm
- Manual & automatic gearbox options
- First showcased at Auto Expo 2023
1.5-litre Naturally Aspirated Petrol
- Expected to be offered as a more affordable petrol option
1.5-litre Diesel Engine
- Expected output: 118 hp / 260 Nm
- Same proven motor seen in the Curvv and Nexon
With these powertrain options, the Sierra aims to appeal to a wide range of buyers—from performance seekers to diesel loyalists.
Launch Timeline
The official launch is scheduled for November 25, with official bookings expected to begin around the same time. Until then, only dealer-level unofficial bookings are happening across select cities.
