Vivo X300 Ultra and X300 Max: New Details Emerge on Specs and March Launch

Vivo is preparing to expand its flagship X300 lineup with two new heavyweights: the X300 Ultra and the X300 Max. Following the initial launch of the X300 and X300 Pro in late 2025, these upcoming models aim to cement Vivo’s dominance in the premium smartphone market, with a specific focus on extreme battery life and professional-grade photography.

Release Timeline and Availability

Industry leaks from reliable sources, including Digital Chat Station and Smart Pikachu, suggest that both devices will be officially unveiled in China in March 2026, shortly after the Chinese Spring Festival.

Notably, the X300 Ultra (model V2562) has recently cleared EEC certification. This suggests that, unlike previous Ultra models which remained exclusive to China, the X300 Ultra may see a global release in Europe and other markets during the second quarter of 2026.

The Vivo X300 Ultra: The Photography Powerhouse

The Ultra model is being positioned as a “singular focus on optical dominance.” However, this hardware comes with a physical trade-off; it is rumored to be one of the heaviest flagship phones in recent memory.

  • Display: A 6.82-inch flat 2K LTPO OLED panel supplied by BOE, featuring a 120Hz refresh rate and high-frequency PWM dimming for eye comfort.
  • Performance: Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
  • The “Dual 200MP” Camera: The standout feature is a triple-camera system featuring two 200-megapixel sensors (likely the primary and the periscope telephoto) alongside a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens. Vivo is also expected to debut a new generation of Zeiss lens coatings and a redesigned zoom architecture.
  • Design Shift: While the circular camera module remains, Vivo has reportedly removed the dedicated camera shutter button seen on the X200 series to save internal space.
  • Connectivity: A special version (V2548A) is tipped to include BeiDou satellite connectivity.

The Vivo X300 Max: The Endurance King

The X300 Max is a new addition to the numbered series, designed for users who prioritize screen real estate and battery longevity.

  • Display: A slightly smaller but still substantial 6.78-inch 1.5K OLED display.
  • Processor: Unlike the Ultra, the Max is expected to utilize MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset.
  • Battery: Its primary selling point is a massive 7,000mAh battery, aiming to set a new standard for flagship endurance.
  • Camera: Despite being “Max” rather than “Ultra,” it still reportedly carries a 200-megapixel triple camera unit.

One More Thing: Vivo’s Action Camera

In a surprise move, Vivo is expected to use the March launch event to branch out into new hardware categories. Reports indicate the company will unveil its first-ever action camera alongside the new smartphones, signaling an intent to compete with brands like GoPro and DJI by leveraging its partnership with Zeiss.

Future Outlook: Skipping the X400

In line with common Chinese naming conventions (tetraphobia regarding the number 4), rumors suggest Vivo will bypass the “X400” name entirely. The successor to the X300 series is expected to be the X500 series, which could arrive as early as late 2026 to compete with the next generation of Xiaomi flagships.
